What it is for

An accurate map base

An orthophoto turns aerial imagery into an accurate map base placed in a coordinate system – a real image of the landscape you can measure directly. The two products differ in how far they rectify vertical objects: the standard orthophoto corrects for the terrain, the true orthophoto for buildings and bridges as well, removing their displacement and the places they occlude. Depending on what you need to do with the data, we will supply the right type – or both from a single flight campaign.

Orthophoto

A seamless mosaic of aerial imagery in a coordinate system, rectified against a terrain model. A real and readable image of the landscape with high informational value. An ideal area-wide base for spatial planning, GIS and mapping of large territories. Measurement is reliable at ground level.

True orthophoto

A true nadir projection of every object – terrain and buildings alike. It removes roof displacement and occlusions, so you can measure and vectorise at every level. It is computed from a digital surface model (DSM). The most accurate base for towns, infrastructure and detailed documentation.

Leaf-on or leaf-off photography

For technical and survey purposes it is usually better to fly outside the growing season, when trees obscure neither the terrain nor structures. Because we operate our own aircraft, we choose the window to match the purpose of the job.

Tracking change over time

We supply the current state together with a comparison against an earlier campaign. Ideal for spatial planning, checking how built-up areas develop and landscape analyses.

Our own aircraft = control over quality

We fly our own aircraft, so the date of the flight, its altitude and the image overlap follow the project – not a subcontractor’s spare capacity. The whole chain from flight planning to processing stays with us, which keeps the colour rendition and the geometric accuracy consistent across the whole area.

Higher resolution than satellites

Aerial photography gives centimetres where commonly available satellites offer tens of centimetres to metres – and with full control over how current the data is.

NIR and spectral bands

Besides RGB we also capture the near-infrared band (NIR) – usable for vegetation condition, NDVI, forestry and agriculture.

Ready for your workflow

Georeferenced data in S-JTSK (national grid), in TIFF, JPG or ECW formats or as a WMS / WMTS service – straight into GIS and design tools.

A single flight campaign yields more

An orthophoto is often only the beginning. From the same data we can also supply DSM/DTM models, LiDAR point clouds or a 3D mesh. **(links to the relevant pages)**

Common questions

What you ask us most.

It depends on the purpose. For area-wide mapping 10–25 cm/px is enough; for detailed documentation of buildings and infrastructure or for precise measurement, 2–5 cm/px is the right choice. We will advise you according to what you plan to do with the data.

Our own aircraft covers extensive territories in a single campaign, with consistent quality and high resolution even where a drone (unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV) is inefficient.
The standard orthophoto is the ideal area-wide base for large territories. Reach for the true orthophoto where accuracy in built-up areas matters – it removes the displacement of buildings and the places they occlude, so you can measure at every level.
The cadastre shows the legal status and the boundaries of land parcels. An orthophoto shows the actual physical state of an area – buildings, roads, vegetation and minor structures exactly as they stand in the landscape.
We fly directly for your project, so you get the current state. Over older data we can also compare change over time.
